Originally from Los Angeles, California, Nick, his wife, and their two dogs moved to Asheville in 2013. He was introduced to the Asheville community working at Hall Fletcher Elementary in the classroom as a teacher’s assistant for kindergarten and 2nd grade students. Prior to becoming a full-time realtor, Nick began his professional life as a behavior therapist and mentor for young children, as well as a touring guitarist for an original band.

Nick harbors a tremendous ability to perform under pressure with a relaxed, professional, and positive approach. Nick is there to guide his clients through every step of the complex transfer of property, making it a simple, easy and enjoyable process. Understanding that this is, in most cases, the biggest transaction one may make in their lifetime, he is diligent and professional while maintaining a personal and friendly connection with his clients.
He and his wife own and operate short- and long-term investment rental properties rounding out his personal experience even further. This experience allows him to act as a comprehensive guide for his clients.
Since 2014, Nick’s passion for real estate and care for his clients earned him MountainX’s best real estate agent for two years in a row while ranking in Asheville’s top 100 since 2018.
In his own words: “Buying a home was one of the biggest and most emotional moments in my (and my wife’s) life. So much so, that it took my interest in real estate to the next level and prompted me to pursue a full time career helping others buy and sell real estate.”
Nick is the best! We were out-of-town buyers who were not very familiar with the neighborhood landscape in Asheville, and Nick was instrumental in getting us a home we love here. He was so patient with our many requests to tour homes (virtually), and always provided his honest take on homes and if he thought they’d be a good fit for us. He was a great negotiator, very knowledgeable about the market here, and we trusted him wholeheartedly in guiding us through this stressful process. Would absolutely use him again in the future (but I think we’ll be happily staying put for a long time in our new home).

After moving to North Carolina from Florida, Tommy Seijo bought his first piece of real estate in West Asheville in 2003 on a teacher’s salary. Learning from his Cuban immigrant father that home ownership was an important staple of the American Dream, the significance of homeownership was innately personal.
While the value of his first home grew over the next seven years, so did Tommy’s personal life when he married and started a family. They purchased land and built a house together designing a home from scratch. When their second child arrived they outgrew their custom built home and set out to remodel an older home. After spending countless days and nights installing floors, building interior walls, and completing dozens of renovations, Tommy and his family feel like they’re now living in their forever home.
Tommy understands the evolution of personal property. His own journey is experiential proof of his ability to invest in a vision for a property. His experience as a property manager of both market rate and affordable housing allows him to work with anyone.
In his own words: “My dad instilled the value of homeownership into me from an early age. Moving to Asheville on a teacher’s salary, I moved mountains to buy my first home in the area. My first realtor was a wonderful guide throughout the process. Since that first home purchase, I’ve flipped homes, remodeled a home, built a home, and purchased investment properties. I bring all this expertise to every client I assist.”
Tommy was beyond amazing at helping us navigate through the entire process of purchasing land. We felt very comfortable along the way, and we were even states away. Tommy communicated thoroughly and helped us understand each and every step. I would highly recommend Tommy to anyone!

Renée is dedicated to providing efficient, high quality, and personal service for every client she works with. Only taking on a few clients at a time has allowed her to give each client intentional and exceptional attention. Born and raised in the west, just a few hours drive from the rugged and beautiful Rocky Mountains, Renée’s love for forests and mountains was born.
After moving with her partner, Tom, to WNC in 2016, she found herself feeling at home in the forests and nestled between mountains. She started working as Nick Hinton’s assistant when her daughter, Lila, was 6 months old. Through Nick, she gained a thorough understanding of real estate transfers before beginning to help clients of her own. She will continue to provide personalized, caring service to all she assists at The Hinton Realty Group.
In her own words: “I have always been a quality over quantity person. I feel it’s worth the time to make careful, intentional choices when it comes to real estate transactions. I strive to give my clients the guidance I wish I had when purchasing my first home.”
Renee is such a lovely person and was always on time and cheerfully ready to show us properties. She was the boots on the ground during our home buying process and even would watch our kids while we looked through houses. I trust Renee and recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking to buy or sell a home in the Asheville area. We just signed the closing documents yesterday and are very happy with our first home purchase. Thank you Renee.
